LONELY SENTINELS is a collection of twelve dramatic lighthouse images.
The lighthouses in this collection are from Washington, Oregon and British
Columbia. Washington lighthouses include: New Dungeness, Alki Point, Point
Wilson, Point No Point and the Gig Harbor Entrance. British Columbia lights
include Nootka and Sisters Islets. Last, but certainly not least, Oregon
lighthouses include Heceta Head, Umpqua, Yaquina Head, Yaquina Bay and
Cape Meares.
I am excited to announce that the lighthouse collection supports 1600x1024
resolutions. I was fortunate enough to acquire a Silicon Graphics 1600SW
monitor that supports 1600x1024 resolution. I understand that the Apple
Cinema Display also supports 1600x1024. The 1600x1024 format more closely
corresponds to a 35mm negative/slide and I think you will be pleased with how
the images display on these large monitors.
You have a variety of ways to get our lighthouse images. To use
the images as wallpapers, you can either download/view individual images
by clicking on the hyperlinks to the right, or you can download a
self-extracting
zip file that contains three selected images from the
collection. The self-extracting zip files include 1024x768, 800x600 and
640x480 resolutions of each image. If you're not sure how
to install a desktop wallpaper, try reading our simple
installation instructions.
To use the images as a screensaver, simply download one of the screensaver
files:Lonely Sentinels-SS Lonely Sentinels-XL The "SS" version is for 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480 resolutions, while the "XL" version supports 1600x1024. The screensavers are auto-installing and are simple to setup. Installation instructions and a list of FAQs are available here or in the readme file included with the screensaver program.
